0207 937 3685) about their requirements before your intended date of departure. Please remember to specify which border you are enquiring about to the Jordanian Consulate. The crossing is permitted in both directions, that is, from Israel to Jordan and return from Jordan to Israel and return. Crossing will be on foot - i.e tourists arriving at the crossing point in an Israeli vehicle will cross on foot and take a Jordanian vehicle on the other side. No Israeli or Jordanian registered vehicles will be permitted to cross the border. Tourists privately owned vehicles, registered in third countries, will be permitted to cross the border in accordance with existing regulations concerning type of vehicle permitted on each country's roads. Customs regulations on the Israeli side of the border are the same as at Ben Gurion International Airport. The crossing is open 7 days a week throughout the year, but will close on Yom Kippur (Jewish day of
atonement) and the Jordanian festival on the first day of the Hijirah Calendar. The terminal is open from: 06.30 - 20.00 Sunday - Thursday 08.00 - 18.00 Friday and Saturday.

Tourists should be holders of passports valid for at least 6 months from the date of the crossing and should have a visa as required by each country. If you would require a visa when entering Jordan or Israel via their international airports then you will also require one when crossing into either country from the other. For information about whether you require a visa to enter Jordan contact the Jordanian Consulate on 0207 937 3685 . Click here to find out if you require a visa to enter Israel. Israel recognises Jordanian stamps in passports and visas and vice versa. That is to say that Jordan will not create difficulties for tourists arriving at this border crossing with a passport bearing an Israeli stamp. Please Note: If you wish to proceed to other Arab countries, in addition to Jordan and Egypt, you should ask for the Israeli stamp on a separate paper, otherwise you will be refused entry. Israeli's, holders of foreign passports, must obtain special authorisation from the Ministry of the Interior in order to visit Jordan *Please contact the ISRAEL GOVERNMENT TOURIST OFFICE for verification of the current exit fees with regards to the above border crossings.
